If I create goals with no real end date, I will keep putting them off. Plus I forgot everything that was on the list. So! With a little less than a month to go until the big 2-6, I’ve created a list of 27 Things to do Before 27.
A compact(ish) number of set tasks that are challenging enough to be interesting and not crazy enough to be impossible. Some may require a little work or creativity or persistence (hello again, every failed photo a day project I ever started), but I know it’s going to give me a lot of interesting stuff to look back on.
Since I’ve taken such an extended break from running, I’m counting the miles that are already on my dailymile account from the last year. These are all things I’ve never done before, so they all still count as long as I do them before April 21, 2013.
- Take a photo everyday for a year
- Run 500 miles (133/500)
- Go rock climbing
- Run a half marathon
- Wear fake eyelashes
- Ride on the back of a motorcycle
- Go kayaking
- Stop biting my nails
- Get professionally fitted for a bra
- Drive the Jeep
- Makeover a piece of furniture
- Ride a mechanical bull
- No haircuts (trims and anti-mullett measures are okay)
- Eyebrows waxed (use the spa giftcard already!)
- Make pizza dough
- Take Lady to the snow
- Pierce something
- Drink a $100 bottle of wine
- Stay at the Madonna Inn
- Buy a new (to me) car
- Do 100 push ups
- Wear heels out
- 4 more tattoos (0/4)
- Take a pole dancing class
- Run a mile in 8 minutes or less
- See a movie alone
- Complete a knitting project
Okay, so technically I’ve done some of these things. I’ve pierced something before, but I wouldn’t have my lip pierced again (for a third time). I’ve also completed a knitting project, but I can’t complete the same one again, and I’d like to get back into it. I’ve worn heels out, but never with much success and I’d like to start doing it more. I’ve seen movies alone, but – again – something I should do more of instead of waiting for things I really want to see to come out on DVD just because Marshall wouldn’t go with me.
What do you want to do in the next year or so?
